On Tuesday 24th March, St Andrew’s Aquatic Centre made the difficult, but necessary decision to close the Aquatic Centre with the imminent arrival of COVID-19 to the Sunshine Coast.
For the safety and protection of our students, and the local community utilising our facilities, we made the responsible call to close the Aquatic Centre.
No lessons, squads, lap swimming or fitness classes would run as of 2pm Tuesday 24th March 2020 until further notice.
On Friday 8th May, the Government released a plan for the re-opening phases of gyms, restaurants, retail, pools e.t.c. At this stage we are awaiting professional advice as to what that looks like for St Andrew’s Aquatic Centre.
As soon as we know, we will be in touch with you to outline how we will progress with the rollout and how we will endeavour to keep our community safe, moving forward.
We are very excited about the potential, but are also extremely aware of maintaining social distancing and following guidelines.
We thank you for your support and look forward to opening our doors again as soon as is safe to do so.
